Recently when i were in kerala i noticed the ad-campaign in the ‘people channel’ by people protesting against the American court’s verdict to kill Saddam, for his cruelties in iraq. People channel which is sponsored by the communist was going all out to get SMS-es from people as a method of protest. But i for some reason felt very annoyed with this attitude. Why should’nt we kill saddam. He is unparalled in brutal crimes against his fellow country men.
I agree that there is another side to this problem. The Americans themselves are no less than Saddam. I believe the law of the land should be able to kill all the brutal rulers of the world - which might include Saddam; but the next name in the list would be Mr. Bush. The conviction of Bush does not make the crime of Saddam any less. He should definitely get the ultimate penalty.
The beautiful and wealthy country of Iraq and was ravaged by the greedy Americans. The American empire has assaulted and killed thousands of Iraqis, with their cruel sanctions and military invasion on Iraq. US invasion has killed more people than saddam’s rule has ever killed. America themselves supported Iraq and helped Saddam when he was playing the game to their tune. Now once he has turned against them, they shamelessly play the world police role and pretends to save the democracy of a state by killing millions of its own people and siphoning off their wealth.
This is Americas neo-colonist attitude which is supported by the united nations. Saddam is a ruler with no power at hand. Why? Lets look back to the times when America said Iraq posses W.M.D (Weapons of Mass Destruction). If US was sure about this, they would have never attacked Iraq for they clearly know that Saddam is not a person who will any inhibitions on using those weapons against US. That also clearly says that US knew that they had no WMD, even before they went to war with iraq. And Americas war against Iraq was completely from its intension’s to siphon off iraq’s wealth and petrol. Now may be you want to look at north korea where US tried to push their nuclear strategy to korea’s head. Which apparently was refused.
Every nation is in its rights in developing weapons like US already did. But US wouldnt agree. But korea did the right thing by testing nuke and by telling US that they have no business in this. Now if america dares to go in war with korea, they clearly knows that it is risking its own life. They wouldn’t do that. Now they will have to use the ploy that they used against India. Of building an economy that is US centric and hence we will eventually fall prey to their tact. And never do anything against US.
India has already fallen into this trap.. and that is the same reason that india is at loss of words while contempting US action against iraq. Their lips are sealed by the US MNC’s operating in india and other indian corporate houses, so that they can continue doing trade with US. A nations interests are being sacrificied for the few MNC’s.
In this war crime saddam and George Bush are equal partners and deserve the same capital punishment. If you think Saddam has to be killed; kill bush too, for they have been equal partners in the crime of killing hundreads of iraqies.
we are all way too happy and lost in our own indulgences. Not caring about the pain and distress our brothers go through in this insane asylum of worldly pleasures. Let us not blame the darkness lets light a candle.
recently i was reading Arundathi roys’s “An ordinary persons guide to The EMPIRE”. I were actually stunned by the fluency and flow of language. The brutality with which she presents the empire infront of the audience is stunning. It time and again hits the point. To quote randomly see her verses below
“So this - all this - is Empire. This loyal confederation, this obscene accumulation of power, this greatly increased distance between those who make the decisions and theose who have to suffer them.”
These essays were written in 2004, yet draw such a vividly true picture of the days to come. The suffering that we all have to go through!. we are all way too happy and lost in our own indulgences. Not caring about the pain and distress our brothers go through in this insane asylum of worlds empire.
Ofcourse she leaves some traces of hope with our fight against the empire and how?. She says: enpower the poor to make their own decisions!.
It was almost at the same time (as i was reading this book) that the nobel peace prize was awarded to younis (a bangaldeshi micro financer), and i think eureka! i have found it.
Microfinance is the answer!
I did some deatailed search on the net about this, Younis and the grameen bank model. Surprsingly the more i thought about it and the more i read about i was feeling sure! yes! provide the poor with some money on no gurantee. and thats it. By doing this you have already accomplished the empowerment of the poor. like guy from grameen bank says: contrary to public opinion, the poor doesnt need anybody’s help nor do they needs to be spoon fed!. the only thing that they lack is money!. They are no less enterprising than any of us(i mean the rich). provide them easy money and they will start growing with them the chain will also grow.
Theres always an other side to any coin!.(like i once heard.. communism would never succeed, because it is against the the human ego!) yes! any bussiness model that is not generating profit for its own sustenance and growth will die (naturally!! a quick death!) . and when i read about the microfinance model - i didnt read any thing about its sustainability or profit, but much to my surprise when i checked the grameen bank’s profit&loss sheet, it showed profit!. and that too about 60 million from a small country like bangladesh!
i slept a good sleep thinking what my country would be if this model is implemented in india with all that large number of people under the poverty line…
i dremt of an india were everyone is rich! and were there are no Naredra modi’s hanging above the head of my muslim brothers!
Yeah ! google has a new Money engine - called Adsense.
Allow google to display Ads in your website or blog and make when money when somebody clicks on the Ads displayed.
Too good to be true ? check out https://www.google.com/adsense/ .
You get around 0.12 cents per click (thats about 2 INR).
I have put Ads on www.sunilkumartk.co.nr, did you notice? if no please go back and click on some Ads, puhleeez…
You can disply ads even on your Blogger.com account. how ? -> Scroll down the Dashboard and you will see the make money link. Click on and just select a layout and color for the Display. and thats it. you have opened a channel for making money.
You can also monitor the Adsense account by loging in to adsense (My account now shows around 3 dollars.) The only problem here is that Google insist that they will send you the cheque only after you make at least 50$. But I think we can belive GOOGLE after all its google baba (the most powerfull = god).
If you want put the ads on your website, you can log into adsense and submit your website. (This will require - google to authorise the you). but thats easily possible if you have genuine site content. After that You will need to log into Adsense and get the code for the Ads. and paste the code (a small java scipt code) to your website.
so stop working !! Make websites and make money !!
Jai bolo Google baba ki ..!!
This week i took a rather long off from work and went home to Mahe. This visit was special because, it is after a long time that i am going back to mahe. I took a bus to MAHE from bangalore, that is the only method of transport available between these cities. I slept well in the bus.Next day i were woken up by the fresh fragrance of kerala.
I started spotting the green on both sides of the road. Thats again the speciality of kerala. Its green everywhere. This greenery can probably be atributed to the amount of Rain that it receives through out the year. It is reasonable enough to wonder i do i need to be praising the beauty so much. Only thing i want to say is that i am not a keralite. instead i am from U.T. Pondicherry. (Now i think that point requires an explanation..)
Much to my surprise i have found that, not many people know that pondicherry is unique in its geography. It has only 4 districts but none of them shares boundaries with another. The 4 districts are called Pondicherry, Karaikal, Yanam and MAHE. All of these places were ruled by the FRENCH (and not BRITISH). and so they still co-exists as one single state. Out of these districts Karikal and Pondicherry are in Tamilnadu (although far from each other), Yanam is in Andhrapradesh. and MAHE is inside kerala near the Malabar coast. (Yes. It is a bit of a dilema to coexist as a state when the Mahe share the culture of kerala and pondichery with the tamilian culture, but that itself is the best thing about MAHE.)
Mahe went though the French rule without much Fuzz (The reason being the frech were really very considerate to the civilians in Mahe) and so we got Freedom only 5 years after the rest of india - in 1954. Mahe still boasts some of the unique remainings of the Frech rule and culture. Like the school that teaches French “Ecole Centrale et Cours Complementaires”. Mahe, animated by the rustic green and the white sand of long beaches. A visitor could easily mistake Mahe for Goa, with its beaches and the bars. While walking through the narrow roads, one can see the newly built palatial houses, memorials for those who fought for independence, the church built 150 years ago by Frenchmen, the sea-side and the temples. Noted for its Gothic architecture, the church contains rare and beautiful glass panels depicting events from the life of Christ. Mahe is a good example for communal harmony with its breathtakingly beautiful churches and temples existing side by side.
Mayyazhi (Mayye or Mahe) as described by the great novelist M. mukundan is the land of myth’s. And mukundan’s “ON THE BANKS OF THE MAYYAZHI” (translation by Gita Krishnankutty) is a collection of all those myth’s and stories.
Mukundan conjures a potpourri of characters, from the impotent Gaston, strumming a guitar through the night, incarcerated in the darkness of his own choice, to the idealistic but doomed Dasan and the voluptuous courtesan Kunhichirutha. When freedom dawns on Mayazzhi, the French leave behind a perplexed populace, rudderless and lost, not unlike the souls of the departed that hover aimlessly like dragonflies over the Velliyan Rock. “A veil of darkness as fine as hymen” continues to envelope the town. One of Malayalam literature’s favourite sons, Mukundan has woven a memorable tale.
The great scinetist einstein once said “Generations to come will scarcely believe that such a one as this walked the earth in flesh and blood.” yes! we have forgotten that great man. We have moved him from our heart to our meager brain.
We know a lot about him but we no more understand his values. We have learned to criticise the man who won us our freedom. We have made him a cover all insane things that we do.
GANDHIJI is a long forgotten tale. Munnabhai’s chemical locha reminds us of the same. Einstein also once said, “I believe that Gandhi’s views were the most enlightened of all the political men in our time. We should strive to do things in his spirit: not to use violence in fighting for our cause, but by non-participation in anything you believe is evil.” I did see all discussions about Lage raho munnabhai in diffrent channels.
I beg to differ with the majority. We can follow Gandhi, may be not fully. Cant we follow one of them. just one ?
Shantaram is about an australian in exile, who escapes to India or rather Bombay. this is a real story from author Gregory David Roberts. He comes to india with his forged passport. Makes friends in India. Slowly he starts to love India and Mumbai. he learns Hindi and Marathi. Works as a doctor in zoppdapatti slum in Bombay. A tryst one of the sex racket takes him to the jail. He returns to join the Bombay mafia, and establishes good relations with the gang member and don.
He goes to Afghanistan with the gang members. and losses a lot of the gang members there - including the Don himself. The most striking factor about this book is that it hits a style of narration and never lets go of it. the real like narration adds to the beauty of the book. spread over 950 pages - reading this book is quite a task. but for the beauty, impartial understanding and acceptance by the author. Most foreigners find it very difficult to understand the Indian mind-set. but the author is at ease. mostly because of the openness of his mind and readiness to accept. He appreciates it all. he starts to fall in love with this country from the very sight.
yes! I Absolutely loved this book.
Designing this web site.
In the past I tried many futile attempts to create my own website. Most of them failed due to the lack of technical knowledge and experience. Now that I have succeeded in doing that, I wish to share the experience with everyone who wish to create a website. I understand that I am still not the expert but I believe this note can prove useful for a non-techie who wishes to create their own website. I started out at the creation of this website only after I got a free domain name and then I took on to finding out the free web hosting services. I had never ever imagined that I will go to this level of coding for my website. I were way too busy and lazy for that. Thanks to my dear dude “Karthik acharya”, who after seeing my first pure HTML version of the website wanted to know how to create a dynamic web site with RSS feeds on it. That’s when I decided to learn PHP. (PHP is a server side scripting language). I told Karthik that For a novice webpage developer who is starting from scratch (and has no money to spend on the web site), there are basically 4 steps in getting a website done. here’s how, (To make things simple for you I am giving only those options that I believe are the best for you. An expert has a lot of other choices but will be too confusing for the novice user.)
1. Get yourself a URL/Domain name: This is the name by which your website will be known. for e.g.: www.yahoo.com). You can either buy a Domain name or settle for a name like mine - www.sunilkumartk.co.nr (don’t ask me what co.nr stands for? I don’t know). I got this domain name for free from www.freedomains.co.nr .But they wont give you any space for storing your website files. so you will have to find a place where you can put your website files and get the newly obtained domain name to redirect to the website file storing space (also called web hosts.) . Now that is the second step.
2.Web hosting: Free web hosts are hard to find, because there are a lot websites which claim to be free but are not fully free. Like ‘Geocities’ which sucks, with its pop-up ads, and a lot of others that are similar but varies in their number of Ads and banners. My search yielded two good web sites, www.000angels.com and www.phpnet.us. 000angels.com is simple decent web host which lets you host all pure Html sites. It is both efficient and fast. It has a simple online file upload tool with it. but the disadvantage is that it will not support JavaScript for security reasons. Phpnet.us is what I prefer using for the main reason that it supports PHP, Mysql (database), and JavaScript and a wonderful 250 MB space for me. Now that you have space for storing the files. You need design the web site and upload files to this space.
3.Web designing: HTML is the language used for building the simple web pages. No, you need not know html coding for creating a web page or site. There are lot of graphical web designing tools available for you from online wizards to Microsoft applications. The two best among them are Macromedia Dreamweaver and MS frontpage (gets bundled with the MS Office). Although I agree that Dreamweaver is definitely a better editor mainly because it supports all most all scripting languages but still, I prefer Frontpage for its familiarity and ease of use. Well, I cant help you in designing your website but I assure you that Frontpage is simple enough to learn it yourself. second option is to rip off some website that you think will fit your website. just use SaveAs for the webpage and open it with Frontpage for editing the text and images. If you have more than one page in your website, you should create hyperlinks to them from other pages. One of the files that you create should be named ‘index.htm” and that will be the file that gets displayed first. (or so to say- your first page should always be called “index.htm”). Index.htm will actually be your home page.
4. Getting things thru - Now you need to put up the files to the web host. Depending on the web host you use you will either use an FTP client (eg: Filezilla) for uploading files to the server or do it in the file-uploading section of web host account. Once you’ve finished uploading, test your website for proper functioning.
